Maybe Fall has arrived for real…The temperature this morning was 68°. I know I shouldn’t read too much into lows in the upper 60’s, but you have no idea how I hold out for days when at least the morning low is comfortable. The highs are still in our seasonable low 90’s…Enjoy autumn Appalachia…

After more years than I care to think about, I can now link to Paul Krugman at the New York Times.
His column today is on Health Care. I tend to agree with him on the need for Universal Coverage. Like most things in this country, the debate is driven by the entrenched interests of the Insurance Industry.
Health Care Hopes – New York Times
All the evidence suggests that it has finally become politically possible to give Americans what citizens of every other advanced nation already have: guaranteed health insurance. The economics of universal health care are sound, and polls show strong public support for guaranteed care. The only thing we have to fear is fear itself.
There is that Republican Strategy to win all elections…Run on Fear. Scare the voters into voting for you…You gotta admit, it keeps on working.
