Sunday, November Eleventh

It’s another overcast morning in the hill country, a chilly morning coffee muses.

Yesterday we finally made it to the Alamo Springs Cafe. I have wanted to stop in since we first stumbled upon it ten years ago. We were just never by that way at a convenient food time. This trip we made it. We caught the tail end of the lunch rush… and a rush it was.

If you want the story from Mike Tangman, check out the video from The Texas Bucket List

Here’s the Texas Monthly reviewb…

Here’s the original that changed history…

I was impressed by the friendliness of the staff, Mike moved through took my name, gave us a beeper and invited us to help ourselves to something to drink. We sat out on the porch for less than 10 minutes. Then back in, and Mike walked us through the menu and took our order.

Sherry and I split a cheeseburger and had a order of half onion rings and half fries… It was all great. And no I am not in the habit of photographing my food… When we make it back again I’ll just skip the fries and go for a full order of onion rings… They were really spectacular, probably the best I’ve ever had.

From Alamo Springs it was back to Fredericksburg… Sherry did some shopping, I did some reading. Then we ran out of town so Sherry could look for a new t-shirt at the Fat Ass Winery… She wears her old one so much it’s almost worn out…

Now breakfast and another day in the hill country….

Here’s another video…
