Wednesday, August Fifteenth

I slept late… really late, but the humidity is down… though the heat is up… middle of the week morning coffee muses.

Work across the street continues today. From my seat on the front porch, I can see crews stripping out old AC ducts.

It’s definitely the middle of summer out. A bit of a breeze is blowing, keeping it from feeling as hot as it is. Butterflies float from flower to flower. The goldenrods at each end of the porch are reaching high with months of growing left before they take on any color other than green.

In my lateness, I forgot to pour a cup of coffee… that’s probably why the heat is just starting to impinge upon my awareness. But, it is starting, and I now notice the absence. So I will remove myself once more to the indoors..

Ahhh… that first sip of coffee… now let the muse flow.

The prognosticators are foretelling of a lesser chance of showers than they were yesterday. But already radar is showing small showers between me and the Gulf Freeway. While looking out the back windows show a larger shower to the south looking dark and ominous.

Oh well, time to check my email…

  1. I fought rain showers all day today. I hope you got some. They were isolated, in the sense that you could see the rain shafts here and there, but where they developed, they were quite heavy.
