Eight Years In My Backyard
I’ve been looking out my back window this past week and thinking fall was running just a bit behind. And it seemed funny as I have been listening to the reports of snow storms across the country. So I decided to wander back through my archives and see what I could see. And it seems I was right… Fall is a bit late.

Wow, that is still really green!
That was my thought too Gary. And I had forgotten about the snow in 2017.
I agree that autumn seemed a little late this year. The fishermen have been griping about the water temperature; it’s still so warm that the flounder run hasn’t taken place. Not only that, as recently as a couple of weeks ago the cicadas still were singing around here. Now, it’s quiet — I don’t think they enjoy temperatures in the 40s!
Linda, I keep thinking back to what the boys at Space City Weather said about November and it being one of the warmest ever recorded in Houston. I would imagine that has both the trees and the cicadas feeling confused. And since we rolled into December on a string of record high temperatures I don’t know if I should be sad or happy about it. But I’m really missing the color of 2023 right about now.
