2023 Day 204

Sunday July 23rd

Mother nature put on a hell of a light show last night. A rather large thunderstorm moved south along the east side of Galveston Bay after dark yesterday. We could see the lightning flashes in the sky while the storm was still to the north of Kingwood. Sometime after midnight I could see the lightning flashes in the sky to the southeast somewhere around Galveston Island. By then, the storm was starting to dissipate.

Today’s forecast is for slightly cooler temperatures with a rising chance of rain into the afternoon hours. And truthfully, we really could use some rain right about now because not only is it hot out but it’s extremely dry.

I’ve noticed over the past months that it’s only on Sunday mornings that the sounds of the chickens from around the corner can really be heard. So the soundtrack of my Sunday mornings is a bunch of chickens clucking. I’m just glad I don’t live any closer to the rooster farm…

Well I can tell from the silence in the kitchen that the coffee pot has dripped its last.. and I could really use that first cup. So I’m going to cut this short.. y’all have a great day. I’ll catch y’all on the other side.
