2023 Day 198

Monday June 17th

The morning fog is a bit heavier this morning which is funny because the humidity is lower the dew point is lower and the temperature is a degree higher…

“I also want to provide some big picture perspective on summer. It is now July 17. Some parts of the United States, including Alaska and the upper Midwest, have reached the peak of summer. However, for Houston the peak of summer does not come until early August—August 4 for Bush Intercontinental Airport, and August 7 for Hobby Airport. Truth be told, the period from mid-July through early September is typically the hottest of the year for us. Let us hope that things turn around this year.”

And so summer continues to build. And I continue to hold up inside out of the burning hell that outdoors in the south and southwest has become this year. I heard a report on the radio that the water temperature in the Florida Keys was in the upper 90’s… that doesn’t seem like a pleasant beach experience to me. But then again what do I know about beach experiences… I haven’t visited a beach outside the month of February in decades.

And speaking of hell… I here the ex-President rained down fire and brimstone on all of the rest of us over the weekend. Is there anyone who really thinks that if he is given the opportunity to live in the “peoples house” again he would ever peacefully leave? In his time in politics his one accomplishment has been to turn life in America into a poorly made reality TV show. I have never enjoyed watching reality TV, and thanks to the Donald I am now forced to live in one… Thanks… But No Thanks.

My day is already getting away from me… y’all stay cool and I’ll catch y’all on the other side…
