June 25th, Friday

It’s another hot muggy morning. My weather app tells me it is 81° outside. It also tells me that it feels like 91° because the humidity is 83%. Whatever the reason, after I snap to my pictures and came back inside only to discover the third one was a really quick movie/video of my thumbs and the grass… I decided I wasn’t stepping back out.

You know, for most of my life I’ve been pretty embarrassed by the people representing me in Congress. I mean hell, I went from Tom Delay to Ron Paul. That was followed by a air conditioning salesman from Pearland. But this new guy, this x sheriff from Fort Bend county… My God, he takes the cake. His little email to constituents yesterday informed me that he introduced a bill in Congress to reimburse states that go out and build a wall on their own. For four years Donald Trump couldn’t do it so now this idiot thinks he’s going to get it through a Democratic controlled Congress.

Actually, I doubt he’s that dumb. He’s just playing to the Trump base. Kind of like the governor of Texas who wants to build that wall.

Would somebody please take roll at the Texas state mental institute… Have a bunch of your inmates / patients have managed to get out and get themselves elected in the state of Texas. I can’t think of anything else that could explain it.

Oh and that’s same email inform me that good old Troy submitted another bill to force the president of the United States to enforce the laws of the United States that Troy thinks aren’t being enforced. But, from what I read in the email, the only thing Troy wants enforced is the immigration laws.

I truly find myself wondering just wearing this world I belong. This whole philosophy of hate thy neighbor… I just don’t understand it. Must be because of the way I was raised… I almost said it was because I was raised Christian. But my Christian upbringing seems at odds with what’s called Christian these days.

Then again, I was raised in the Southern Baptist Church. And it didn’t take me very long to figure out I really didn’t belong there. And judging by what’s been happening with those folks these last few years, I wasn’t wrong.

I even spent some years studying and comparing different religions around the world. Taking a bit of philosophy here, and a bit of philosophy there. All in all, the general concepts of most spiritual beliefs seem to be based on much the same moral principles. It’s just when religions get organized that trouble begins… To my way of thinking anyway. So… Well I consider myself a spiritual man, I really can’t hold any organized religion that seems to expect me to hate my fellow man. So I guess I’ll just go on getting by the way I have been getting by for most of my life, following my own spiritual trail in the wilderness.

So, keeping all of that in mind… Y’all stay safe, stay healthy, and pray… For the world, for this nation, and oh lordy… For this state.

And whatever you do, try to get out and enjoy this summer weekend.
