Wednesday, August 7

The humidity is so thick this morning you can see it in the air. It’s more of a haziness than actual fog though.

Traffic is moving loudly on the bypass. Thinderclouds are growing over the bay. A train is announcing It’s crossing down the tracks.

The sun is clearing the eastern horizon. The woods at the back of the yard are still dark and mysterious. The neighborhood birds are just coming to life as the sun peaks out.

Time to head in and check the news…

  1. Hazy-foggy here, too. I’m off to work with my fingers crossed that things are dry, anyway. It would be nice to get some varnishing done while it’s still “cool.” (Now, excuse me while I laugh!)

    1. “Cool”… must be different being on the water ’cause it sure wasn’t cool on the back porch. I hope it’s dry enough to get it done right.

      1. I’ve looked all over, and can’t find the “sarcasm” font! It was a beastie out there today, and we’ve got more in store. That’s all right. High pressure may mean hot, but it also helps keep those tropical critters away.

        1. Before I can sip my first sip, before I can muse my first muse, it’s too warm to enjoy the back porch. All I can think about sitting here is a cool shower. After my bout of no AC this last weekend, I don’t think I’m ready to see any tropical critters traveling here anytime soon… that was about the only good thing that happened during Harvey, no power outages.

          Stay cool today.
