July Twenty-ninth, Sunday

The sky is cloudy, the temperature is just normally warm, the fan is cooling this morning coffee muses.

The first bird on my feeder today was a blue jay.

The birds are sounding joyful this morning. Carolina wrens, northern cardinals, mockingbirds, chickadees, tufted titmouses… all of the normal subjects are accounted for in song.

There is just enough breeze to ring a wind chime… occasionally… and, just enough to rock the pinwheels back and forth but not actually spin them.

All of my grandkids are heading for the beach today. Six kids and two single parents. It will be nice and quiet around the house for a change.

There’s a train blowing it’s horn on the tracks in town. Rail traffic has been a bit slow these past few weeks.

It looks like a new Carolina wren fledgling is flying about calling for it’s parents.

Well, it looks like we will finally make a breakfast run to the Busy Bee. It’s been weeks since our last breakfast there.

The sun is on my neck and I’m going in…. later.
