July Fourteenth, Saturday

On the front porch listening to a mockingbird on this morning coffee muses.

It’s nice out front this morning. Every once in awhile, a vehicle goes slowly past on the road. Birds are singing in the canopy of trees.

I had to switch seats to get the sun out of my eyes. So I moved to the glider on the end, with my back to the sun. It also put me in the shadow of the chaste tree… right by the big wind chime, which is catching some of my fan and making a delightful noise behind my head. It also gives me a different viewpoint for looking out on the yard.

See what I mean… anyway, the weather prognosticators were almost proved very wrong yesterday. But, then the massive thunderstorm that was threatening to dump on us… well , it just passed us right by. It did lower the temperature at an opportune time in the afternoon though. Sadly, the heat returned before the day was done.

Our visit with Sherry’s uncle and aunt went well. There were six of us around the table at Kelley’s. Sherry’s mom and sister, aunt and uncle, Sherry and I. After our meal we all came back to the house for coffee and a bit of dump cake for some. The conversation was enjoyable, the company was pleasant, the day went well. And, of course, mandatory photos were taken to commemorate the day….

The first bird on the feeder today was a chickadee.

Time for a refill… Later.
