Friday, June twenty-second

Ridiculous humidity, bright and sunny between scattered clouds, it’ll be a miserable Deere meditations day… morning coffee muses.

The first bird on the feeder today is a chickadee followed immediately by two titmouses. The soundtrack of the morning… cicadas buzzing loudly, fading in and out.

The humidity this morning is so high I couldn’t see out the windows from the condensation. Tack on the temperature, 84° here on the back porch, and it feels like 97°. And it’s only going to get worse. With the past week of rain keeping me out of the yard, i really need to do my Deere meditations before the grass overwhelms me and my Deere. Hopefully, we won’t see any more rain today.

If the prognosticators can be trusted with their foretelling, the rains should hold for a few days anyway.

Even the floor fan set to high isn’t keeping me comfortable. It’s a real sticky morning. I think I’ll go in and give the grass a chance to dry before coming back out and attacking my yard.

Later…

  1. The same over here. I had my AC set at 79 overnight, and the windows were coated with condensation this morning. “Ghastly” is the word that came to mind when I stepped outside. But, the wind’s up, and the humidity will be dropping as the heat rises. All things considered, I’m happy to be able to go to work! Enough with the rain, already.

    1. Linda, I like your word better… ghastly describes it well. The only good thing about the condensation, I could squeegee the windows clean with their own moisture… and the rain appears to be over for the next week or better
