Sunday, the thirteenth day of May, Mother’s Day 2018

Happy Mother’s Day to all of the mother’s out there as I sit here doing my Sunday morning coffee muses.

Walking out this morning it truly feels warmer than the temperature reported by the weather station… Looking at the weather prognosticators foretelling of the next ten days I see the rises above 90° outnumber the dips below 70°… Not a feature of the weather calendar I look forward to each year.

It’s a beautiful Sunday morning, in spite of the humidity making it feel warmish. It being earlier than normal, it’s quieter than normal too.

My neighbor did his own Deere meditations yesterday, so looking across both yards it’s mostly smooth grass. Except for my wild patches. They are pretty much empty of flowers right now, but, I’m holding out hope for more as the season goes by.

The peacocks are calling out this morning. As neat as they are to watch, I’m glad they live a ways off. Those guys are loud…

There are billowing clouds on both horizons, but only high wispy ones in between. We are really getting to the point where we need some rain. But the prognosticators aren’t putting that probability above 25% for the next ten days, and it only hits that high twice.

And still… no cicadas.

Though, I’m seeing more and more dragonflies each day.

I can’t say my coffee is gone because it’s still too hot to drink… I almost wish I was using a cup and saucer so I could go back to my childhood and saucer an’ blow my coffee. I haven’t done that since I lived with my grandparents back in the early ’70’s.
