Thursday, the tenth of May

The coolness in the the air won’t last much past these morning coffee muses.

The dew sparkling on the grass, will last not much longer. Summer’s not far away. This back porch is down to a strip of sunlight of a morning that is only three feet wide.

The morning quiet is only broken by my neighbor’s Harley starting up as he heads out to work. Then it’s back to just me and the birds. The loudest of the birds being the crows this morning.

The humidity is definitely up these days. Each morning, looking into the sun, the tree line on the other side of my neighbor’s is getting lost in a hazy glow. It also accounts for the heavy dew.

I haven’t seen any sign of a bluebird since they left the nesting box a month or so ago. The world is a little less happy without their song in it.

The crows keep flying by on the way to wherever they are gathering this morning. It’s not far away, because I can here them conversing.

Well, that didn’t take long, that little bit of coolness is now gone. It’s not yet warm, but the air from the ceiling fans no longer has that hint of chill.

The yard is looking a bit shaggy, the bahiagrass is going to seed. I was planning to do my Deere meditations today, but now have appointments morning and afternoon. So, hopefully I can get them in tomorrow.

My cup is empty and clouds are moving in off the Gulf…
