There is just a slight haze hugging the ground this morning. It’s not thick enough to be fog. Basically, it’s just the 97% humidity. And when you add that humidity to the dew point of 78° our temperature of 79° feels much warmer.
So needless to say, my time on the back porch was held to a minimum this morning even if it was before sunup.
Over the last few months I’ve stumbled over some kindred spirits out on the YouTubes… Some young outspoken liberals and progressives from deep red states. They tend to share my outrage and what is happening to America. And I find it somewhat refreshing to listen to.
Last night I watched a video I really opened my eyes to a big part of what is wrong with this country.. the premise of the video was that if Hillary Clinton had been elected in 2016 we wouldn’t find ourselves in the position of having the rights of Americans rolled back to where they were 100 years ago.
And the main fact in that premise was that without the election of the Donald, Hillary Clinton would have put progressive justices on the supreme Court…
My takeaway from the video with something that wasn’t mentioned in the video.. it was the fact that no matter how many times we say we live in a democracy we don’t actually live in a democracy. If we did the popular vote would prevail and the Donald never would have impinged upon the fate of so many Americans.
But, it’s Mitch McConnell that I really blame for the state of the Supreme Court. Without Mitch McConnell the Donald would have only gotten one appointment on the bench. And then American Civil Rights wouldn’t be in the state of being rolled back to the early 20th century.
America deserves better than angry old white men… And that statement comes from an angry old white man…
Enough of my rant. It’s just blues from a red state.. where this summer pretty much feels like living in hell…
