Friday June 23rd
It’s warm. It’s humid. It’s hazy.. though it looks more like smoke than fog. But, either I am getting acclimatized or else something else is happening.. because it really doesn’t feel as oppressively warm as it has.
I mean look at it.. The temperature’s 80°, the dew point is 78°, and the humidity is at 95%. Those are definitely summertime numbers.
But, I’ve been on the back porch now for 20 minutes and I’m not rushing to get back in the house. So I guess that’s win.
Through June 10th, Houston had experienced our coolest June since 2017, with a chance to perhaps outpace that year too. Since June 10th and through yesterday, it has been the third hottest mid-June stretch on record. When all is said and done, this will end up being one of our hottest Junes on record. We are firmly in it over the next week.
It’s really surprisingly quiet out. Not even much from the birds. And traffic sounds are almost non-existent. Heavy equipment is pretty much done around the corner in the Watermark addition. I can’t even hear any chickens.
But as much as I’m not quite enjoying this time on the porch.. I think my time would be much more pleasantly spent inside the house. So on that note I think I will go in and join my cup of coffee… I hope you all have a great day… And I’ll catch y’all on the other side.
