Friday, 14th of May

It’s another breezy overcast start to the day. The world is green. The coffee is hot.

My wife is home again for another day. And I’m on the back porch listening to crows in the distance.

This morning as I walked out, I heard a number of bluebirds singing in the trees of the front yard. Yesterday, I watched the bluebird come and go from the nest box.

I really enjoy these spring-like mornings we’re getting where the early temperatures are below 70°. It’s almost as if we’re actually having a spring.

Somewhere in the distance dump trucks are dumping their loads. I’m not exactly sure where, but it’s someplace close from the loudness of the dump. We suddenly have a lot of home construction going on in our area. Yesterday afternoon we drove through an area in Manville that has seen phenomenal growth in the last couple of years.

On days like today, my little remnant of woods looks so dark and mysterious. Hard to think, it wasn’t that long ago that my little remnant was part of almost 20 acres of woods along Mustang Bayou.

Oh well, time to get busy… Y’all stay safe, stay healthy, pray for the nation in the world… Personally I think I’ll keep wearing my mask for a little while at least.

Enjoy your Friday.
