I woke up this morning to the sound of thunder. Not quite like last weekend when the lightning strikes were fast and furious, close to the house. But just an occasional rumble, a barely audible, just on the edge of awareness, grumble in the distance. Like rain was falling. And once I was up, the radar looked pretty much like it does above.
The temperature is falling. It was 74° earlier, now it’s 70°. There’s a flash flood watch in effect. But judging by the amount of rain, here anyway, I don’t expect the water to be rising too high or too fast.
My daughter and the grandkids packed her car early this morning and headed off for the weekend in Garner State Park. Not the best of weekends to be headed out on a camping trip… But for a park where reservations book a year in advance, catching an opening and a screen shelter a few weeks out… Well, let’s just say you take what you get.
They.will be joined on this trip by my elder son and his oldest son. I hope they all have a good time. Hopefully, the drive will not be continuously through falling rain…
The crazy thing about this is the wife and I will now have our house all to ourselves… Except for my daughter’s cat.
Well, it’s late, I’ve already had breakfast, and the coffee is getting cold… So I’ll in this. Y’all stay safe, stay healthy, and pray for the nation and the world.
And have a great weekend…
