By the time I start my school day coffee muses, I’m actually already starting my third cup of the day. I start my first cup after I wake the kids as they get ready for school. My second cup I pour and take to the car to go sit at the end of the drive with my granddaughter, and I continue that cup as I wait for my grandson’s bus. So that by the time I sit down to make my way through these morning muses I have just poured that third cup. And I tend to muse until that cup is empty.
I noticed this morning that by the time the second bus had arrived the sun had risen above the trees, though as cloudy as it is back to the east it didn’t much matter. It was comfortable sitting in the car, windows down, the outside temperature was 73°. A slight breeze was moving the heat away from my body, so all in all not a unpleasant way to spend 30 minutes with the radio on.
Living down here on the southeast coast of Texas, I’ve been paying attention, sort of, to the weather happening to the north of us. It’s almost surreal, tornadoes and heavy weather, while we just have overcast skies and breezes. There’s a bit more chance of rain today, but, if history is our guide the rains will slide by just to the north. Or else, we might get a scattering of heavy showers… Or not. Down here on the coast of Texas, you never know. But no matter what, the forecasted high but once again be in the 80s. I should be happy, I should jump for joy, because it could be hitting the 90s already…
It’s really kind of wild looking at the radar of the whole state of Texas. The rainy, thundery, lightning-filled weather looks like a giant comma. Stretching from Northeast Texas, Oklahoma and curving down through San Antonio and Austin with a tail all the way down into South Texas. And from what the weather nerds were saying this weather pattern will s l o w l y move to the east and northeast across the country. Since it’s pretty much spent the last day sitting in the same place I guess there correct.
Oh well, the third cup is almost empty… So, y’all stay safe, stay healthy, and pray… Pray for the nation and the world, pray for the end to this pandemic, pray for the more understanding and thoughtful society.
Try to enjoy your Thursday… And if you’re anywhere near the weather… Stay dry.
