Mother nature decided to impress us with a cool morning today. Here at my place we started the morning at 48°, with a heavy dew on the ground. The winds that were blowing the past few days have settled. And as the daylightened, and I went out to the car with the grandkids, the air was filled with bird song.
This coolness will not last though, as the day will warm up into the seventies once again. And we will be hitting the eighties shortly, again.
I find myself letting this morning muse get past me. Though still, I’m posting this before the time of yesterday’s post. I’m on my third cup of coffee and breakfast is already made… Just uneaten.
Yesterday’s storms had unintended consequences. The stoplight at the end of my block tends to go out whenever lightning is in the area. Usually it resets to a blinking always stop situation. And that’s exactly what it did yesterday. The unintended consequences of this is that from my point of view traffic flows much quicker. But, for the traffic on the bypass it all but comes to a complete halt. So all day yesterday this situation prevailed… And sitting at the end of the drive this morning waiting for the school buses, I see the situation still prevails.
Of course, the state will fix this. Hopefully better than they fixed it in the past. Since just recently they’ve fixed the sequencing and timing of all of the lights along the bypass. Which has had the unintended consequence of slowing traffic down everywhere. For some reason they feel the lights must have longer stops. Which tends to back up traffic on all the roads… because, nowadays all of the cars standing in line cannot get through during a single sequence. I’m sure this was done to meet some unwritten criteria somewhere in the government.
But life goes on and this too shall pass because at some point they’ll fix it again.
Got to run. Y’all stay safe, stay healthy, and pray for our nation and the world.
Enjoy the start of the new week.
