It’s a pleasant, if rainy, start to a spring day. Temperatures in the low 60s.

The whole time we waited for the bus this morning it rained. Sometimes lightly, sometimes heavier. Luckily, as both kids walk to the bus, it was mostly lite.

As always, if it’s Tuesday, it must be laundry day. I think that after breakfast I’ll try to be inspired and lay some paint down on something. I have some small paper, canvas boards, and canvas all prepared for inspiration to strike.

But mostly, I just need to practice putting paint to surface. I need to get used to the feel, instruct my muscle memory… I tried a week or so ago to lay some paint down on unprepared paper. I wasn’t impressed with the results. The colors became muddied.

So I’ve prepped some surfaces with gesso. A couple of layers of texture. And I’ll see what it does.
