March 11, Thursday

While we still look like winter, the morning temperature of 68° lays false to that claim from my eyes. It’s definitely shorts and tank top weather. And the AC is definitely on here in the house. It’s not fighting the outside temperature so much as moderating the inside heat rise from all of the mechanicals and human heaters in the house.

Both grandkids are on school buses headed for school houses. And me, I get to drive into downtown Houston today, well almost, for another doctor’s visit. That’s going to be a good 3 hours out of my day for a 15 minute visit. I guess I really can’t complain though, there are many ways this monthly visit could be much worse.

Looking out on the back porch, I see some kind of critter has knocked one of my feeders down again. I’m going to assume it was probably the raccoons, but I saw a squirrel in it yesterday afternoon. And it’s the feeder the Cardinals like to use most. So I’ll have to see about real fixing it to its stand once again, and adding some seed to keep everyone happy.

Y’all stay safe, stay healthy, and pray for the nation and the world.

Enjoy your Thursday and have a great end of the week.

  1. Don’t forget the possum as a possible feeder robber. I’ve got one who’s been a regular visitor for months. I had no idea the critters were such agile pole climbers, but at least one certainly is! It looks like the wind’s down today, too. I hope so. I’ve been unable to get some varnishing finished for three days thanks to the wind. I can cope with 20 mph, but 25-30 mph isn’t workable!

    1. Yeah, the possum is definitely another candidate. We’ve had a plethora of fauna on the back porch this winter, and possums have been in the menagerie.
