Ever since the grandkids went back to school after New Year’s, this has been my normal morning routine. At least, has spring approaches, it has now begun to be light as the bus approaches.
The women in this house have both headed to work by the time I get up and wake the grandkids. The first bus arrives sometime before 7:00 a.m. and the second bus arrives by 7:15. Bus schedules are sloppy enough that I take the first grandkid to the bus stop shortly after 6:45. So basically I spend 30 minutes sitting at the street in the car listening to the radio.
Usually I’m having my second cup of coffee as I listen to Morning Joe on the radio. Once I come back in after that second bus, I pour my third cup and sit down and contemplate my muse… Or not.
Before making that trip to the bus stop, I’ve already read my email, checked out my feed reader, and read the few blogs that I follow. There’s also usually a book open to the side of my computer screen. The book is positioned so that I can study the paintings of GC Myers through my day. Gary really inspires me, and studying his images, his art, has me wanting to take a stab at painting myself… Soon.
The house is empty now. It’s quiet. I’m ready to start my day, so I will bring this to the end. Y’all stay safe, stay healthy, pray for the Nation and the world. No matter what, keep wearing the mask, keep socially distant, and wash your hands… And just enjoy the peaceful, easy, feeling of a Biden presidency.
Have a wonderful day.
