This morning is the warmest start we’ve seen this summer, I think. Hurricane Laura is close enough to us that she’s starting to pump that tropical air our way. We’ve already had some rain showers. And it’s looking like that will be our weather pattern for the day.
The first thing I did when I got up was check the models to see where the storm was going. Lucky for us it seems to have tracked a bit east of the Texas Louisiana border. Sorry Louisiana, I don’t want to wish bad luck on you folks, but I don’t want to be trying to cover my windows if I don’t need to.
I spent another night with the Republicans last evening. I think I’m beginning to understand why we can’t get together to get anything done. If they truly believe the fairy tale being told at the Republican Convention, then we really do have an alternative facts problem in America.
For that I have to blame Fox News and their cohorts at the radical conservative end of the political spectrum. The hyperbolic name calling really is a Trump family characteristic. It must be contagious, because almost every speaker had it.
I don’t know if I can sit through two more nights of this convoluted string of lies, twisted “facts”, and just plain seemingly induced fever dreams.
Y’all stay safe, stay healthy, and Pray for our Nation and the World. Say a special prayer for all those under the threat of Hurricane Laura.
