On the front porch to start the day… and the week. There’s a lot of Monday morning traffic moving by… strangely, most of it’s moving out into the county, not in to town.
The shrubbery at the east end of the porch provides almost full shade now as the sun rises. Add in the wind chill factor to the floor fan and the day’s heat is almost manageable.
Speaking of fans, I’ve noticed a prevalence, around this house anyway, for squirrel cage type fans. They seem to move more air than the old propeller type. But then, when you think about it, that’s always been the type used in forced air systems. There must be a reason for that.
Here’s today’s photo of the front yard…
Can you believe I didn’t know what a squirrel fan is? Well, now I do. And, yes — they do force a lot more air. It’s what all the mechanics use when they have to work inside an engine compartment, or the interior of an un-air-conditioned boat.
