Cool, overcast, breezy start to a morning coffee muses.

I am still reeling from what when on in Washington yesterday. To say I expected a fair and honest hearing would be saying I lived in la la land. Which I must admit, sometimes Texas politics do feel that way. Nowadays Texas politics seems to have infected the nation as a whole.

Senator Grassley’s claim that “his” staff would be happy to investigate all claims. And that no one came to them… Yet, from every Republican, the talking points have been there is no point in dragging this out. Senator Hatch is right this minute riding down partisan political games… while advocating a partisan agenda.

To listen to republicans talk, they never need FBI investigations. The majority staff can investigate all allegations against their nominees. What is it that Republicans are afraid the FBI would find. What is it Judge Kavanaugh is afraid they will find.

Already in these hearings, the fact that Judge Kavanaugh has lied and obfuscated when pressed on his past actions… it was only through records released when pressed by threats from Democrats that they would release them over threats of legal retaliation.

Now, listening to Senator Graham, I understand partisan BS once more.

I’m moving on… it’s less than five weeks till the midterms, and as Republicans keep saying… elections have consequences.
