I just spent the last couple of hours reliving the subliminal sounds from my formative years. I know they were’t my parents sounds…I can’t say where I ever heard them during those years of the ’60’s. But they are the sounds and songs that resonate more than most for some reason.

Phil Ochs: There But For Fortune

While his name was familiar, I can’t say I ever paid attention to his work…  Now that I have both the work and the historical perspective from which it came…I’m sad I wasn’t precocious enough to have discovered him when I was in grade school. But, it was the entire movement that Phil Ochs was part of that made me the adult I became growing up in those turbulent years.
