Two years ago we were planning our first fall trip to the Blue Ridge Mountains of North Carolina and Virginia…Life has conspired since then to keep me from the mountains I love. I look forward to next year and a visit to the mountains to beat all of our past visits.
The weather here keeps bouncing from hot to cool (at least Texas cool) to hot again. At least rains keep falling after too many months of little precipitation. Everything is looking like spring except that the wildflowers blooming all over are autumn blooms.
Everyone here has been fighting the last of the summer colds…Runny noses and sneezes one and all. That has kept the blogging to a minimum…But I am beginning to feel better…So on with the show.
The photo above was taken in November of 2007 on the Watauga River just downstram from Valle Crucis, North Carolina. I had tried for years to get a picture here but the last time I was in the area there was no water coming over the dam…I really like the duotone quality of the image…
