As we left Virginia behind today Mother Nature gave me a perfect picture postcard view of Mabry Mill. Actually the two colorful trees in the background are about the only two left in the vicinity with much color but they were in the right place at the right time for me…
We ate breakfast at the Blue Ridge Restaurant again before we left town. And I did a quick stop at the Cafe del Sol for a latte for the Parkway. We hadn’t left town before we were missing the Writer’s Suite at the Hotel Floyd. Best Western just cannot compete…
Before we left Floyd County completely behind we did stop and visit with the friendly folks at Chateau Morrisette. I enjoyed a bit of wine tasting while Sherry wandered amongst the gift. I ended up hauling out more than I planned I can tell you…Good thing the weather will be cool for the trip home.
We wandered the whole way south to Boone on the Blue Ridge Parkway and enjoyed the views all the way down. The closer we got to Boone the less the color was hanging on the trees. So it looks like we have been extremely lucky to see as much as we have this late in the season…
Tomorrow calls for a trip to the Mast Store in Valle Crucis, a must stop every time we are in the area…
Picture Perfect!
You were definitely in the right place at the right time, Fred will be proud.
