Snow In SE Texas?

Not so much this morning…But there is ice everywhere.

After days of buildup (again), the snow the prognosticators were promising predicting just didn’t happen. Though most of the state seems to be covered with snow this morning, the Houston area just has a layer of ice covering almost everything. Roads are closed all over the region due to icy conditions. What roads are open are full of cars as people try to drive to work in conditions they never see.

After looking outside to check for snow first thing this morning we have been watching the TV to follow all of the weather news from the area…All tollways are closed, all flights from both airports are cancelled, most of the freeways are shutdown…For all intents the Houston area is closed down. At least today the electricity hasn’t shut off.

Sitting here in my kitchen while breakfast cooks, I see ice sickles hanging from the roof outside. I can’t remember every seeing that sight before…

We will be waiting today to see if we have a new Grand-daughter coming home…Big brother is missing his mama after being stuck in the house with Pawpaw for the past three days.

And now the temperatures are dropping…
