Christmas?

The weather outside is…springlike. Not what you want to get you into the Christmas spirit. The high here today could break the record for high temperatures on this date. Here we sit, just after noon on a cloudy day, under an acre of green leaves of oak trees with the temperature already above 76 and the humidity at 82%. Tomorrow is supposed to be warmer still…And then there’s Monday, even warmer.

All I can hope for on Monday is that the construction at work doesn’t kill the AC again. Friday was pretty stuffy up in the design center with all of the computers and monitors pumping out heat…

We’ve had a couple of cold fronts make it this far south now. We even had frost on the ground this past week. So we have gone from green leaves on everything to no leaves on most. Strange how quick the look of the world changed…And it did it without ever going into even the abbreviated fall color mode we can anticipate here. After our trip into the “poor” color of this years fall on the Blue Ridge, even our normal color would have been a disappointment. But no color…wow.

It almost looks like this could become another of those years when we are running the AC side of our heat pump on Christmas Day. Unless, of course, Mother Nature decides to surprise us with another Christmas Eve snowstorm. Now that’s a Christmas present I would enjoy…And remember…

Like this Christmas morning in 2004…
