Daylight’s end on Back-to-Work Monday….

As the sun sinks slowly behind the trees to the west the heat of the day begins to approach the lowly mid-eighties. Mid summer on the Texas Gulf Coast is always a charmer unless you live here, then it just becomes a dodge the mosquito chore of sweaty clothes and damp everything else…

I probably did more talking today at work than I have in a long time. Reassuring everyone that “Yes, I really do feel better” and “No, I don’t know what the outcome is”. Considering its been nine weeks since I put in a full day at work…Today was a long day. Other than the day long meet and greet it seem all I really accomplished was to work through the backlog of emails…And I checked in from home every other day at least while I was out so I don’t understand what took so long…

On my desk at work I keep a “Page A Day” Zen Calendar. That means that today I pulled of all pf the pages since July 23rd at one time. As I peruse the daily quotations I found this to pass on.

“There are no holy places and no holy people, only holy moment, only holy moments of wisdom” — Jack Kornfield

Then I came across…

“Forget not that the earth likes to feel your bare feet and the winds to play with your hair.” — Kahil Gibran

Which reminds me in a way of the quote I appropriated from Patry Francis’ website Simply Wait for my common book today…

“The freedom to do something you’re not good at–just for the joy of it–has got to be one of the greatest gifts we can ever give ourselves.”
– Patry Francis

And I think I’ll call it quits and have supper on that note. Why don’t you all pull off your shoes and go dance with the shooting stars tonight…You have my permission, do I have yours?
