It’s Coming On Christmas…

It’s been eight days since I snapped the last image. It’s the Saturday before Christmas.

December 20, 2025

We are sending out fewer and fewer Christmas Cards these days. With the Christmas stamps I purchased a few years back… and the number we require each year shrinking… I may not have any reason to ever invest in another sheet. Just for the record, here’s the card we sent out this year… Merry Christmas to all (two or three) of you who actually read these muses. And as the card says… May you enjoy Peace in the coming week and year

Christmas 2025

I’ve finally found something about AI that I can grudgingly approve of. It’s AI photo restoration and colorization… And I have a ton of scans to go through. Here’s a Christmas Card from 65 years ago made new again…

Ronny, Gary, Chuck, and Sandy

The funny thing is, that card was produced in black and white and that’s the only way I’ve ever seen it until this week. On that note, here’s another memory that has always been a faded black and white snapshot in a photo album…

Family get together 1954.

That’s me in the foreground with my mother. My father is in the chair just behind me. We are surrounded by aunts and uncles and cousins. It was a coming together that had been going on for decades at that time. My family would continue to gather at least once a year until 2019 when we finally ended the gathering just before COVID would have done it anyway.

So, in this holiday season, I’m thinking of family near and far. Memories of most in the above picture long faded.

And, because the title I typed as I began this muse has caused the song to be playing in my head as I typed and played with images, here’s River by Joni… Enjoy

  1. That top photo is beautiful. It was a glorious day — now it seems we’re in for a Texas version of a white Christmas, except our ‘white’ will be fog instead of snow.

    1. Thanks Linda, I keep hearing this is going to be one of the warmest Christmas day over a big slice of America.
