Friday, December 8th
The day is dark and dreary. Warmish and damp. When I woke up this morning it was already 67°. Water was standing in the driveway. Windrows of blown damp leaves rested in piles like sand dunes on a beach.
Out back the red oak leaves are falling.. littering the ground beneath the tree.
Though, crazily, the predominant color is still green. Both in front, and in back.
And so for a few days at least, we return to the season of early fall. With high as approaching 80 °, and showers scattered throughout the region, we await the arrival of the next front when we will once again experience the coolness of the season.
