Monday February 13th
It’s a cool 43° as I step out this morning before sunrise. There’s a haze floating in the air… not quite a fog… After the cool start this morning, the forecast is for the temperatures to rise into the ’70s this afternoon. And, tonight’s low isn’t even going to get below 60°…
birds are becoming much more common… Not a good word but the varieties are much greater than in weeks past. There are woodpeckers tapping in the pecan… Blue Jays in the oaks… Robbins in the yard… Doves on the telephone line. And yes there are still telephone lines in this neighborhood. Chickadees, titmice, and wrens are also around.
Watching the traffic go by on the street in front of the house as I watch the kids hating for the school bus, I see a great disregard for the posted speed limits… And really, the changes in the amount of traffic going by over the past 20 or so years is really amazing… It makes me happy that our house now sits so much further back from the road.
Well now, my coffee cup calls my name… So I’ll catch y’all on the other side.
