Waiting for the cool down… In the past hour a line of wannabe showers blew thru on the leadup to cool front. Not much more than a heavy sprinkle, it just hinted at rain. Kinda like what we had pass thru yesterday afternoon.
Well, winter break is over for the grandkids and it’s back to school today… Just as Sherry headed back to work after her Christmas/New Years staycation. So the house will be mostly empty for the first time in almost a month…
Sitting on the front porch waiting for the bus to pick up the grandkids … A flock of grackles fills the pecan tree. The one thing about grackles is they’re noisy. And… a few dozen of them in one place are very noisy.
Well that’s done. Now it’s time to wander in and have another cup and some breakfast…
Yesterday my media player (it’s now MediaMonkey 5 for anyone who’s interested) was playing a song off the album “What we did on my our holiday” by the Fairport Convention… It caught my attention and sent me on a YouTube journey. Gary Myers, I blame you for this. If you hadn’t shared a song by Sandy Denny a month ago I wouldn’t have dropped a couple of CD collections into my Wishlist and then into my media library. Which is now leading me to be impressed by this group and Sandy… Once again. Maybe I should thank you rather than blame you for reintroducing me… This album would have come out about the time I was finishing up my sophomore year in High School… Such a long time ago. Have a listen…
Just for the record… This is the song that started me on my journey yesterday…
Y’all stay safe, stay healthy, and say a prayer for our dysfunctional country and the world… I’ll catch y’all on the other side…
