It’s a strange morning, no color in the east… what color there is is in the west as the sun rises. In the east it’s bands of clouds flowing across the sky from north to south… filling in as the minutes tick by.
While around the porch the hummingbird battles continue for another day. A murder of crows crossed the sky earlier, cawing their way through the morning’s dawning.
Off the end of the porch my patch of goldenrod is growing well without a hint of fall color yet. Speaking of fall, I see on the radar map that we have another tease of cooler weather out there. Another “cold” front crossing Texas. I wonder if this one will actually pass us by? I know that’s what the hummingbirds are piling in and waiting for, a strong cold front to help them across the Gulf of Mexico.
I saw a couple of trucks moving down the drainage ditch right of ways this morning. I guess the county drainage folks are mowing the bayou today.
It’s time to make sure the grandkids are moving and getting ready to start another virtual school day…
Y’all stay safe, stay healthy, and Pray for our Nation and the world.
It’s gray and gloomy here, too — but cooler, by far. No complaints on my part. The biggest challenge of the morning may be getting to work. They’re closing down the intersection of Hwy 146 and 2094 in Kemah for that road and bridge construction. The marina I have to get to is in that area, and I have my fingers crossed that the traffic backups won’t be horrendous. Some back streets are around the school, so they should be open. We’ll see!
The gray and gloomy your way made it’s way to me about the time I began to write the morning muse…
I remember the traffic backups back in the days of two lane 146, one each way, and the old drawbridge where the high bridge is now. Sunday traffic used to back up for miles coming back from Galveston to Pasadena as the boats came back in.
