I’m Being Spoiled By These Early Fall Morning Coffee Muses

I swear I could really learn to love mornings like this followed by days like we’ve been having this week. And the color, usually the grass is brownish and the trees look pretty bad, dropping leaves already… this year it’s as green as early summer. Which around here means early May.

Driving around the county I’ve even seen some Chinese tallows already showing fall colors. They are an anomaly of course. Most trees in this area don’t show any fall color till late November or early December.

We are far enough in the seasonal progression though that the sun has now transited the house. That mean my mornings are now brighter than I like with the sun now back on this side of the house. The house is kicked a bit to the east of true south, so it’s the morning sun that hits the porch more than the afternoon sun. Most years at this point in the season it’s this morning sun beating down in full force that heats up this porch beyond comfortable that drives me indoors. Another reason to be thankful for these unseasonably cool mornings.

Well, we have a birthday party to get ready for today so I better run..
