It’s Another Hot, Humid, August Morning Coffee Muses…

And I’m gonna spend my musing time sitting in the office with a view out the front window where it’s cool and dry.  The back porch temperature is reading 88.3° right now. I have a temperature sensor handing in the kumquat tree that’s reading 94.4°. The main weather station is reading 93.9°… Through in a humidity of 75% and it’s no fun being outside this morning.

Besides, after months of not really listening to my music library, reloading my software reminded me that I actually have a music library… Over 1500 artists and almost 9000 tracks collected over almost 20 years, including many concerts. Simon and Garfunkel are playing right now. I still prefer to use the old Winamp app for my music playing.  I quit messing with the ITunes app because every time I updated it, it would try to manage my music library and it would screw everything up. Since all I ever used I tunes for was to keep my podcasts up to date, it wasn’t worth the hassle.

John Lennon – Borrowed Time

It’s time for Deere Meditations today if the weather cooperates. The weather prognosticators are foretelling a higher chance of rain than yesterday when we had shower after shower move over most of the day…

Ani Difranco – Marrow

The radar has a large mass of rain off towards San Antonio slowly falling our way. Plus there’s rain to the north of Houston just playing around.  And some small showers moving towards us from the coast…

John Prine – Glory of True Love

The concrete you see in the picture was the floor of the old garage and workshop that had been converted to a garage apartment and storage by the time we purchased this place. The concrete was pour on three separate years in the mid sixties. I had it left as a reminder of the history of the place. Just like if you wander around the front yard you’ll come across the foundation blocks from the old house outlining it’s perimeter.

Garth Brooks – Fever

Time for a refill… I have calls to make.
