Warning Political Rant Follows
Is it the weather or the political outlook that has me so down in the dumps on this New Year’s morning?
As we begin this the question isn’t will DJT be bad for my country… It’s how bad will he be. When Obama took office, Republicans immediately began to obstruct. By the end of his term, they were in open rebellion against their constitutional duties. I don’t see Democrats acting in the same lockstep mentality.
Who thought it was a good idea to elect a reality show celebrity to the highest office in the world? Do you folks not know that those shows are as made up as the 1950’s you claim to want to return to. But, then again, these are the same folks who believe the made up news on Fox and Facebook… How do I know? Because, for eight years you have felt the need to share all of these b.s. stories with me.
You all claim you want to “Make America Great Again”. Folks, American was about as great as it’s ever been… At least as great as Tea Party conservatives would ever let it become. And trying to turn back the clock on the more progressive fifty plus percent of the population will not have the results you want. I remember the decade that followed the 1950’s you so admired… Be careful what you wish for, sometimes you actually get it.
So, pardon me if I don’t feel my normal level of optimism on this the first day of the new year. I think I’ve earned my pessimism about what is about to happen to this country I love.
