June 23 Muse – 2015

Tuesday morning Coffee Muses… still hot and humid on the back porch. I have been struck by a continuing feature of this year… The lack of sunny days continue to be in stark contrast to past years. When I wander back thru the almanac feature in the Weather Underground, for every month this year the actual number of sunny days can be counted on the fingers of one hand. And partly cloudy this year seems to mean you will probably see patches of blue at some point during the day. Yesterday’s report says scattered clouds… I hate to break it to them but when you only see the sun hit the ground a handful of times all days and the clouds look about eight months pregnant, that ain’t very scattered.

Summer is well along here. GWB_2656The elderberry plants are mostly past the blooming stage. What is really apparent though is the lack of berries. It must say something about the pollinators locally. I guess it’s a good thing I don’t feel like making any elderberry wine… I would be hard presses to find enough berries to make a shot glass full of wine… Or jelly either.

Oh well coffee’s done…
