Here it is, the first week of September is almost done. The weather has teased us on a number of occasions in the past few weeks…But we are still dry and the temperature passes 90° on an almost daily basis. Even the dogs are still spending most of the day laying about in the shade.

The nice thing recently is the green has returned. After our hot dry spring and early summer with the grass mostly brown and the trees dropping leaves all summer long, to see green grass and fresh growth into early fall is nice for a change. I was out walking last week and it almost felt like spring…Go figure.

Today there is a meme working on Facebook and beginning to be seen on Twitter that has people posting the following message to their status update for today…I saw it first on my son’s girlfriends status…

Today is grandson number two’s first birthday. It has only been in the last few days that he has started walking and standing up in the middle of the floor. It should prove an interesting day as the family gathers to celebrate another first birthday.
