Hello Twenty O’Eight

“New Year’s Day–Now is the accepted time to make your regular annual good resolutions. Next week you can begin paving hell with them as usual.~ Mark Twain

I went to bed early last evening and slept late on this new years morning (unlike Fred). I thought I’d get up and photograph the sun rising. Instead I enjoyed my last morning of sloth before hitting the commute to the office tomorrow. It’s been over a week and a half of year end  non-work, a habit that runs all the way back to when my kids were young and daycare was closed over the holidays.

So here is a belated Happy New Years wish to those few of you who follow these muses…If you want a shot of the sunrise visit Doug’s Blue Ridge Muse. For a great sunset shot from yesterday try Marie’s Blue Ridge Blog.

I am already anticipating my next day off. My annual beach day on my birthday in February. Nothing like going to the beach on an early February weekday. Empty expanses of sand in all directions. Nothing but the waves and the birds…

Oh well, the day moves on and breakfast calls (or rather…the wife calls for her breakfast). I’ll catch ya’ll  on the other side…
