You know I avoided ABC’s fictional account of the lead up to the terrorist attack. Not hard to do since most evenings I turn the TV off after the Newshour if I have even turned it on at all. But for some reason I flipped on ABC to listen to the Decider present us with our thoughts for this year and didn’t bother to turn it off when the movie started back up.
I guess if you are an average American and all of your news comes from Fox or your local tabloid then the story was “fair and balanced”. But I had problems with the events being presented. You can chase down the factual distortions on other websites because I know they will be available. The scene that slapped me in the face with the spin glove though was where they showed the President giving a eulogy for the victims in the middle of the event. Yea I know they had the disclaimer about time shifts and all, but come on…The man was on the run that day and the next. Trying to put Bush in the middle of the heroics is pushing spin to a new low. The only heroic things George Bush has ever done are pick up a bull horn and put down a bottle. One was easy and the other is the only thing I respect about the man…
