A Winter Coffee Muses Morning Under The Ceiling Fans

A Winter Coffee Muses Morning Under The Ceiling Fans.

It’s another overcast morning here on my back porch. The clouds are the only thing keeping the temperature down in the comfort zone. Even so I cranked the ceiling fans up for the day. The forecast is calling for a high of 89 degrees today. Yesterday’s high was 88.5 degrees. I’ll bet, if the sun breaks through, we will hit 90.

The traffic sounds are louder today while the bird sounds are subdued. I keep hearing a bird singing that I don’t recognize. Right now a blue jay is making more noise than anything else… their call always reminds me of a slow squeaky swing on hot summer’s day. Jay… Jay… Jay… over and over and over again.

The pileated woodpecker is in the woods just south of me. His loud ancient call cuts the air like nothing else. He just flew off to the west, white wing bands flashing. All woodpeckers have such undulating flight pattern they are recognizable from far off.

Time to get working on my Road Trip post… The pictures are already edited..
