A Friday Morning Muse…

While I was do my house-husband duty folding laundry I started to muse on the condition of some of our towels…You know you’ve been married a while when you hold up a towel and can see through it. Now granted we own a lot of towels…I know, it a woman thing, ’cause I can’t explain the way the women in this house go through towels. But there are some that go back the entire thirty years we’ve been married. They are so thin that I can’t see how anyone can get them to still soak up water. But there they are every load of towels that come from the laundry. Week after week, year after year…These old towels have travelled with us from house to house to house.

When I was musing on these towels and the history behind them they brought back memories of my grandmother’s towels. My grandparents were married in 1931.The towels I recall were from the 1960’s to the early 1970’s.Some of the towels I recall in my grandmother’s linen closet were just as thin…It’s funny I guess…because my parents only lasted as a couple for under 15 years and I never remember using towels that had worn that thin…

My point in this muse…I don’t think I have one. I guess you could say I’m just musing out loud.

Now, back to my coffee…
