… the meanders of my mind over morning coffee.
Yep. Sure is. I was working in Galveston this past week, and the humidity was full-summer-like. They’re making noises about rain this week. I surely do hope so.
I’ve been meaning to ask – do you know anyone who’s seen Old Man Bailey and his light? I used to drive 35 late and night, coming and going, and I swear I’ve seen it. I didn’t know what it was when I first came across it. It was only after I started asking around that someone told me Bailey’s Prairie had a bit of a legend. I’ve been thinking about him recently, and just wondered if you had any experience.
Maybe when my mother told me if I didn’t carry out her wishes, she’d come back to haunt me, she wasn’t kidding! 😉
I’ve spent mostly daylight hours in that part of the county, so no input on the lights. The only legend I ever heard about old man Bailey was how they buried him standing up with his rifle at his side and a jug at his feet…Seems the standing up part was stipulated in his will.
