Fall Promises…

Rain chances increase to 70 percent Tuesday as the front approaches. The high will be near 84 degrees and the low will be near 69 degrees. South winds will be 5 mph to 10 mph.

Winds shift to the north late Wednesday and the high temperature dips to the upper 70s and the low will be in the upper 60s as the weak norther settles above the region. A 60 percent chance of rain is expected that day.

The first day of fall has possibilities. Rain and a cool front…Just what the doctor ordered.

Walking around the yard this past weekend I could see the results of the past week of high temperatures and no precipitation. The grass has reached that crispy brown stage again where it has spent most of this spring and summer. Just about the time I go looking for a case of “Kelly Green” spray paint, Mother Nature relents and waters the yard just enough to coax another bit of green from the tortured grass stalks (and another round of Deere roulette from me).

On another note…While sufing the web a while back I stumbled across a link to a sweepstakes giving away a Trek Light Hammock. Even though the contest was on the Penthouse Magazine website, I figured I would enter. About a month ago I received an email telling me I was one of the ten winner of  a  Double Hammock they were giving away. At the end of last week mine arrived in the mail. I have to admit I really like this hammock. It’s made from parachute “silk” and is big enough for two. I haven’t spent the night in it yet, but, it sure makes a great place to “hang” in the afternoon with the grandsons…Makes me wish for a return to the days when I went camping on a regular basis.

  1. Congrats on winning Gary, happy to hear you’re loving the hammock so far! Hopefully you can share some pictures or stories from your Trek Light adventures (backyard or otherwise!). If there’s anything I can help you with just let me know.

  2. Hi Seth, I have to admit that so far we haven’t left the yard (and the porch), but me and my grandsons love the hammock. You have my unreserved recommendation, it’s a great product and a cinch to setup…
