July Nineteenth, Thursday

Condensation on my glasses when I walked out, but none on the windows… it’s a warm morning coffee muses.

The first bird on the feeder today was a tufted titmouse. Our Mississippi Kite is soaring over the yard. Blue jays are fussing in the oaks. And a nice breeze is blowing.

It’s been a nice change of pace being out front for these muses this week. While you are more aware of the fact that you live in town, and quite a bit of traffic passes by, it’s a peaceful park-like setting. There’s a business behind the house across the road that has traffic coming and going all day long.

I keep getting notices and text messages about the high heat causing high electricity demand and asking for conservation. It seems our Texas electrical system might be reaching some limits in supply. If so, all of those high cost producers must be kicking in to get their oversized piece of the pie.

There’s a train moving thru town this morning. It’s funny how sometimes the sound of the trains are so clear, and sometimes you can hardly hear them.

The cicadas like the temperatures. Their buzzing is loud this morning. The prognosticators are foretelling of highs pushing 100° for the next week. The cicadas should love it. I know I’ll be keeping close to the house and thanking the AC gods that it works…

Coffee’s done… time for a refill.
