No clouds obstruct the seamless blue of the summer sky on this morning coffee muses.

The first bird on the feeder today was a chickadee. The second bird on the feeder was a tufted titmouse.

No breeze this morning. The humidity isn’t quite as oppressive.

The whistle of a train sounds far down the tracks.

I spot the Mississippi Kite on the wing more than on the perch these days. They are such graceful examples of a raptor.

A Carolina wren calls from the red oak. Since I quit hanging baskets of plants, we haven’t seen them as often as we used to.

Clouds have moved in from the gulf on both the east and the west. To go from cloudless to cloudy in an hour is just a fact of life here. It looks like an entirely different day out now.

Cardinals play chase in and out of the cedars, across the yard and back. While the cicadas buzz at each other like rattlesnakes aching for a fight.

My cups empty and it’s time to move on… I’ll leave you with this thought… it’s time to move on from the politics of hate and fear. Vote for the democrats.
