Saturday, June twenty-third

High humidity, but, not as warm for this sunny weekend morning coffee muses.

There’s enough humidity in the air to make it hazy looking into the sun. Compared to yesterday morning though, it’s cool enough to almost feel chilled in front of the floor fan. Or maybe it just feels cooler because I was out in the heat for almost four hours yesterday afternoon.

The yard has been mowed once more. But with two weeks of well watered summer growth on the ground, it looks more like a hay field than a yard… kinda of smells like one too.

The soundtrack of the morning is being led by a mockingbirds serenade. As usual, the percussion instrument is the “voice” of the cicadas.

My body is feeling the effects of my Deere meditations this morning. I am sore all over.

The dragonflies are back in force. Patrolling at multiple levels of the field. Cattle egrets are also scouring the ground for insects and frogs. The first bird on the feeder today is a rubythroat perched on the seed feeder. They like to perch on the top because they can guard the nectar feeder from there.

It’s time for me to wander in were it’s cooler. I need to let this old body recover from yesterday…
